BANKRUPTCY
DEBT PROBLEMS?
One of your options if overburdened by debt is to obtain relief under the Bankruptcy Code. That is, to declare bankruptcy. A bankruptcy discharge can eliminate certain debts and help you make a “fresh start”.
Consider the benefits.
WITH BANKRUPTCY YOU CAN ELIMINATE:
Personal bank loans
Medical and hospital bills
Debt from judgements or lawsuits
WITH BANKRUPTCY YOU CAN STOP:
Wage garnishment
Blocking and seizure of your bank accounts
Creditor harassment. This means an end to annoying phone calls.
A BANKRUPTCY DOES NOT AFFECT:
Your job
Your immigration status
Your household day-to-day banking transactions
STEPS FOR DEBT ELIMINATION TRHOUGH BANKRUPTCY
During your visit to our office we will look at the details of your debts and your financial situation. We will inform you of your options, costs and the necessary documentation.
We will obtain your credit report in order to have a complete picture of your debs and creditors.
When you complete the necessary documentation (taxes, bank statements, proof of income) we will proceed to file the petition with the bankruptcy court.
With proof that your petition was filed -the case number- the creditors are obligated to stop all phone calls and collection efforts.
The office of the bankruptcy trustee will advise of the day and time of the Creditors’ Meeting on your case.
Your participation in the Creditors’ Meeting is brief and simple. We will prepare you in advance for the meeting. The basic goal is to verify that the information submitted is truthful and complete. At the end of the meeting your petition will most likely be approved.
FOR YOUR PEACE OF MIND, WE NEVER SUBMIT A BANKRUPTCY PETITION IF WE ARE NOT SURE THAT IT MEETS ALL THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE LAW.
